Welcome to my pyrography school - here you can learn all about this fascinating medium. From tools to techniques, books to patterns, choosing the right wood through to selling your work.

Pyrography as an art or craft is available to anyone wishing to have a go. There is no need to have formal art training. When practiced as a hobby it certainly has a theraputic effect, and can be developed to supplement your income. At the very least you can sell pieces to your family and friends! If you are able to use one good eye with one good hand you can do it!
Even though I recommend sitting at a table, I must confess to actually kneeling, crouched in a praying position to do my work. Although it's not too good for the circulation! I have always found it difficult to work at a table even as a practicing graphic designer!

For the following lessons, I will be using the Peter Child machine. If you are not then I recommend a round ended point similar in size to the tip of an average ball point pen. Simply follow the links shown on the left and have fun!
